What is asb?

ASB stands for "Associated Student Body" and is a leadership program that can be adapted from K-12, that is made up of student members and elected officers. In our case, we are a high school based ASB program.

How Can I join SHS asb?

The Summerville Union High School Associated Student Body Program is a 0 period course, meaning that we meet at 6:55am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and have Officer Meetings every Friday that are optional for regular student members.

What Exactly does asb do?

We host campus-wide events, including but not limited to school dances, lunchtime activities, volunteer/fundraiser events, club week, homecoming festivities, spirit weeks, and so much more!

How does asb look on college apps?

Short Answer: Fantastic.

Every student in our ASB program participates in 60+ hours of community service per semester, and officers are eligible to attend CADA/CASL events where they can network and learn valuable leadership skills to bring back to ASB and their lives (during spring break & summer). With the experience you gain from an activity like ASB, you'll have a better chance at presenting yourself as a well-rounded and capable applicant!
